2025 Dinner Raffle FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I have questions, who do I talk to?
Anna Wood-Cox can be contacted anytime: awood@drinkwaterschool.org or text/cell phone: (207) 930-9399. You may also contact Cayla Miller in the church office at office.uubelfast@gmail.com
Where do we get tickets to sell?
You may text or call Anna at (207) 930-9399; or, send an email request to uubelfast@gmail.org or awood@drinkwaterschool.org and they will get tickets to you.
Can tickets be purchased online? (This is not currently set up. Please check back.)
Sort of. You can fill out a ticket request form on the church website and pay for them on Paypal. The form will be directed to Anna who will fill out your tickets and text, email, or mail the stubs or gift cards to you.
What’s a gift card?
We have some beautiful gift cards that can be used if anyone is buying tickets as a gift for someone else. They include the ticket # and To: and From: spots to fill out.
What payment methods are accepted?
Cash, personal checks, credit card, or money orders made payable to “UUCB” with “Raffle” written in the memo line. Anna can also take Venmo in a pinch.
Is it mandatory to participate?
It is not mandatory, but we are asking each member to talk about the raffle with everyone! The tickets tend to sell themselves. If we sell all 1000 tickets we will make over $14,000 for our beloved church.
How do I help if I don’t / can’t sell tickets?
Though the tickets do tend to sell themselves, there are two very helpful things you can do. Firstly, share the poster on all of your social media and ask your friends to do likewise. Secondly, talk about the raffle with everyone!
I’ve sold all my tickets and I need more. What do I do?
First, pat yourself on the back for a job well done! Then text or call Anna at (207) 930-9399 or send an email request to awood@drinkwaterschool.org to turn in your sold ticket stubs and monies. She will then issue you another batch of tickets. When turning in your packets, please be sure it is clear which payments go with which ticket stubs.
When do the tickets have to be turned in? Where do I bring them?
Optimally, you will turn in your sold tickets to Anna or Cayla as soon as you’ve sold each packet. This gives us the ability to track our progress. The final deadline to sell tickets is Wednesday, December 31, 2025, however you may turn them in any time after that up to the drawing on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
When is the raffle drawing?
Directly after the service at church on Sunday, January 4, 2026. The winner does not need to be present to win.
When do we have to travel by?
The Winner must decide upon a destination and a restaurant(s) by April 30, 2026. The Winner must use the Prize by January 7, 2027, barring travel restrictions. All travel arrangements must be booked through UUCB or its designated representative.
I’m selling my tickets to someone who lives in another state. How do I get the tickets to them?
Please hold on to their ticket stub for them. Sign the tickets on their behalf (so you know it’s their tickets). If possible, take a picture of the completed stubs and email/text the photo to them as proof of purchase. You may mail them the stub of their ticket.
Anything else I should know?
Fill in the tickets as completely as you can. Name and phone number are the most important! We want to be able to call the winner right away if they are not present at the drawing.
The Winner is entitled to one of four prize options:
- A. For travel outside of the U.S.A.: Two round-trip airline flights to and from any major international airport, dinner for two at a restaurant of his or her choice, and two nights hotel accommodations for two (the “Prize”). The Prize does not include bush flights or ground transportation, or any other entertainment or services beyond those explicitly stated in these conditions.
- B. For travel within the U.S.A.: Two round trip airline flights to and from any U.S. airport (or other transportation of choice), two dinners for two at restaurants of his or her choice, and four nights accommodations for two (the “Prize”). The destination and restaurant will be selected by the Winner. UUCB will select the airline and accommodations.
