Weekly Programs

Mindfulness Meditation

Wednesdays from 9:30-11:00am
Location: Meeting Room
The UUCB Mindfulness Meditation Group meets on Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11am in the first floor fellowship room. Participants of all levels are welcome; no special equipment or clothing required.  During the summer (June-August) the group is self-led by group members. A free-will offering is taken to support the UUCB.

Raaj Yoga - Foundations of Yoga Practice

Thursdays, 6:15-7:15am

Start your day with a steady and balanced yoga practice designed to harmonize body, mind, and energy. All are welcome—no prior experience needed.

Each class includes:

  • Asana – posture and movement to strengthen and align the body
  • Pranayama – breathing practices to calm and regulate energy
  • Relaxation – deep rest to restore the nervous system
  • Dhyana – meditation to cultivate awareness and inner stillness

Together, these practices support strength, flexibility, balance, and clarity of mind.

Through steady practice, Raaj Yoga helps awaken your full awareness so you can meet each moment with presence and bring your true gifts into the world.

The teacher, Gobind Singh Khalsa, is a father, leader, and teacher who has studied and practiced yoga and contemplative disciplines for more than 25 years. His experience includes Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, and martial arts, with a focus on conscious living—integrating breath, movement, relaxation, meditation, and conscious action into daily life

Seasoned Souls

Tuesdays, 10:00-11:30am
Location: On Zoom
Seasoned Souls wants you, that is if you are over age 60, share UU values, and would like to explore thought-provoking ideas with other seniors. For over seven years we gathered Tuesday mornings 10:00 to 11:30 to consider, both individually and as a group, a wide variety of topics.  We now meet only on Zoom.
Here are just a few examples of what we’ve chewed on over the years: permaculture, resilience, forgiveness, prayer, hatred, blessings, regrets, opening the heart, possibilities, friendship, aloneness, humor, belonging. Members take turns choosing a topic and then send out a brief resource for reading or viewing before our meetings. We begin with opening words, then check in on how our spirit is, followed by the reading and individual 5-minute reflections on the week’s topic.  Next, we open up the discussion, and end with closing words. Our sessions can be spiritually up-lifting and heartfelt. We heartily welcome newcomers!
Please email Jan Anderson if you’d like to be added to our email list!  JAN'S EMAIL

Thursday Connections Conversations

Thursdays, 11am - 12:30pm
Location: On Zoom
The Thursday Connection Conversation is held every Thursday from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Zoom. All are welcome - there is no restriction on who can attend. The purpose is to create greater connections with each other. We start with a short reading and then have a short check-in - a time when people can share what is happening in their lives without being interrupted. After this, together we choose a topic to discuss. We never know where the conversation will go - which makes it so wonderful. We might start out talking about one topic, and then have the conversation change to a completely different topic. The topics are random. It really depends on what is happening in people's lives or the world. We just never know. In not having a specific topic, our only boundary is time.
Join us and bring your joys, your laughter, your sorrows, and your worries.

Men's Circle

2nd and 4th Sundays following the worship service
Location: One of the RE rooms
The UU Belfast Men’s Circle welcomes all UU Belfast people who identify as men to join them.
The Fellowship exists to connect and support its members in the spirit of UU values through the sharing of thoughts, feelings, ideas, and reflections in an open and relaxed setting. The goal is to have a helpful structure along with relaxed spontaneity while maintaining a kindness of spirit.
Gatherings of the fellowship are open to self-identified men who are members or friends of the UU Church of Belfast, and who agree to our covenant.
Meetings are on the second and fourth Sunday of each month. One person is designated as moderator to help observe the covenant and keep track of time.
See Dan Kirchoff for more information. EMAIL

Soul Matters (Description of the Program)

Location: At church or on Zoom, depending on the group
Each year, starting in September, our UUCB offers several Soul Matters groups with up to 10 members each, who meet together monthly through June at the church and/or on Zoom. Each group meets on different days and times, usually for 2 hours. While it’s definitely preferable to join a group in the fall, sometimes a group can accommodate a newcomer later than that. The primary goal is to foster circles of trust and deep listening, leading to personal spiritual development and connection.
We receive an on-line monthly packet from the UUA with readings and resources on a particular topic such as belonging, wonder, courage, vulnerability, change, healing, resilience, or commitment. Since spiritual development requires more than intellectual analysis of a topic, we’re encouraged to engage in one of several spiritual exercises offered.
In addition, we’re invited to choose one of the reflective questions listed that most “speaks to us” so as to reflect on it for several days or weeks. In our meetings each person has 5 uninterrupted minutes to speak about how their explorations led to deeper personal insight, after which there is open discussion. These groups truly embody Beloved Community.
Come join in one (or more) of these heart-warming spiritual journeys and connect with others deeply. Email Amy McCormick if you'd like to join a group or start your own!
