Event Promotion Resources

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Belfast does not handle promotion for groups renting the sanctuary for events, but we certainly do want you to have be successful in reaching the public. We encourage you to use the resources below to promote your event. We suggest you send to the primary list – the most successful, local outlets. If you wish to do more, move on the secondary list below. (If your event will be in some other location, you can still use this list.)

UU Belfast Bulletin Board

This email bulletin board is widely-used in the Belfast community. Note the steps below:
  1. • You must register your name and email address to send to or receive postings. Indicate you want to be on the general UUBB list.
  2. • Then send your event information to this list.
  3. • Postings are usually sent out within a day of submission, generally between 9 am and 8 pm.

WBFY Radio - Belfast

WBFY is the in-town community radio station. They do not have a website events calendar. They do announce events on the air.

WERU Radio

This is a must-use promotional resource. People will hear it on-air. Please follow these guidelines:

1. At least two weeks before your event, enter your information into the form and your event will then be in the queue to be approved. When there are multiple events, each one needs its own listing with all the pertinent information.

2. Only the contents of the “Details” section are printed off for programmers to read over the air (which is why you have to repeat some of the information that you already entered in the “When” and “Where” sections). This section may contain no more than 50 words. All of the information listed below must be included for the event to be approved.

Blue Hill Chamber of Commerce

This calendar is a public service for our community, monitored and maintained by the BHPCoC. All are welcome to post public events as long as they are non-offensive in nature.

Bluegrass Music Association of Maine

For those with an appropriate program:
      First -  Fill out the form linked above for your event to be added to the Bluegrass Music Association of Maine's event calendar. Please be as clear as possible and check spelling and grammar before submitting. Priority is given to BMAM members and Maine events.
      Second: Email Your Flyer - After submitting your event on the form, if you have a flyer, you may also email it as a JPG file to the email address above.

Downeast Friends of the Folk Arts

Community members can create an account using the website link above to submit or update events and performer directory listings. 

      First: To create an account, fill out the form. The website will send a link to your email address to confirm your account. 

      Next: Once confirmed, you can log in and submit events and listings. If you have already created an account, you can log in here to submit or update your events and performer listings.

How to post an event on the Maine Public Community Calendar:   See the Calendar

1. Only submit your event once. All event listings are reviewed and approved by our Maine Public Community Calendar manager. It can take up to 1-2 business days for an event to be reviewed and published.

2. If you need to make changes or cancel your listing after it has been submitted or posted, such as the venue, date, time, or any other information, please reach out to our Audience Services team at comments@mainepublic.org.

3. We accept most community events within Maine and New Hampshire. We do not accept listings for political events.

Pen Bay Pilot Newspaper
