The Unitarian Universalist Church of Belfast offers a spacious and elegant sanctuary. Our church features beautiful vintage details with all the modern amenities, including a state of the art technology package to record your service or broadcast via Zoom to remote guests.

We have a large and well-appointed kitchen and room for a small reception if desired, either indoors or outdoors. The building is fully ADA accessible. Chairs in the sanctuary are moveable, and we can comfortably seat up to 120 people. We are a welcoming church, happy to celebrate with any and all couples and families from many backgrounds and traditions.

We have our own minister, Rev. Amy Fiorilli, available to officiate, with a second interfaith minister available should there be a schedule conflict. Floral services are available upon request.
About Us
Facilities:
The church has heat, but does not have air conditioning. There are free standing fans and air purifiers available, as well as large stained glass windows that may be opened. Classroom spaces are available for dressing. There are several easily accessible restrooms throughout the building. The sanctuary is accessed by stairs or elevator.
Music:
The church has a piano and a sound system. If you would like a pianist to play at your wedding, please let us know.
Flowers and Other Decor:

The church can provide flower arrangement services if desired. Wax candles may not be used for decoration. You may use flameless battery operated candles. You may use a ceremonial candle, such as a unity candle. It is important to choose a person to care for your candle after the wedding if you have the Unity Ceremony.
Do not use tape or tacks to fasten decorations, or anything that can leave a mark. We request that your guests refrain from throwing anything inside the church.
Technology:
We have two screens at the front of the sanctuary available for showing slideshows, photos, or videos. Our robust sound system can easily accommodate either live or recorded music. We have an AV system capable of recording your ceremony and/or broadcasting it via Zoom to remote guests. Please note the cameras for this service cannot be moved, but they are aimed at the front and rear of the sanctuary and can zoom and pan. Accessing this service requires trained church staff.
Parking:
The church does not have a parking lot. There is limited free street parking. Parking maps are available from the Chamber of Commerce if you wish to provide them for your guests.

About Rev. Amy

I am an ordained Unitarian Universalist Minister with a Master’s in Divinity from Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago. As a UU my theology is one of unconditional love and interconnection. While I am very comfortable with God language, I am especially suited to more secular expressions of the sacred. If you are humanist, atheist, or spiritual but not religious I feel confident we can create a ceremony that feels right to you.
I believe that marriage is about many important things but has nothing to do with gender. All love is something to cherish and celebrate.
I have always been drawn to rituals as an important way to mark the special moments in our lives. From birth to death and all that comes in between. It has felt important to me to mark those moments with intention and a sense of the sacred that makes life meaningful. As a wedding officiant my only goal is to create and lead a ceremony that most authentically represents you, as a couple. Whether that is classic and simple or unique and elaborate, whether you love to laugh or want to hold onto the seriousness of the day. I want to honor who you are and the life you are building together. As your officiant, my fee includes unlimited emails, texts, and phone calls for the planning process, as well as 2 in person meetings for one hour each. I will be happy to lead a 30-minute rehearsal and will be there early on your wedding day to be sure that all goes smoothly.
